Just showed jj may voldemort mask which scared him a bit. Then, he proceeded to make security access card with barcode for scanner for all three of us. Joe's card has a password with voldemort in it!

Recruited to play

Yesterday during inhouse mite game,  scott Mclean,  track 2 traveling team coach came over to ask if Jay could join the team. Wow, I was surprised!  Jay was having a good game but he started just 2 months ago. Kids needed to try out to get on the traveling team. Scott was very complimentary about Jay's ability.  He is an athlete,  he said. Coachable, knows where to go, moves well.  All the qualities of a good player. I was very touched.  However,  Jay has too many commitments already.  Many games are on Saturday morning. He tried very hard to convince us but we while honored had to turn it down.  Will do it when the time comes.  He said that Jay would have a spot on any team that he coaches.  Wow, I am truly proud to be the father of Jay.  Thank you God for giving the opportunity to experience such joy!

Moving up

JJ making inroad @new school. Scored 100% several times and got moved to the highest competency spelling group in class. Well done!

Perseverance

8 wk till belt test. Gangnam style sword routine has a big barrier of a overhead sword toss with right hand for 1.5 turns.   Getting better but not 10 times consecutives. Did 3 times last nite.  Goal was 5 times today.  JJ practiced nonstop for over 30 min to no avail. Close but not there.  Daddy suggested hitting 3 and rest.  It was late and dinner time.  To daddy's surprise, jJ insisted on getting 5 before stopping.  Tough kid!  Daddy was impressed by the spirit but just a tad doubtful.  5 min later. He made it. So proud and happy.  That's sweetness of father Hood.

Eye contact

Visiting niigata grandma for taiken ryogaku.  Mommy bought nandoseru on yahoo auction for 1980 yen! Regular price couple of hundred us$. JJ was thrilled to have the same as his classmates.  Daddy and jJ in ofuro.  Daddy asked jJ if he had thanked mommy for that when he talked to her on the phone.  His reply - it's better to have eye contact when u thank someone so I will do that when I see her next week.    We got a cheeky one here!
